How to use NFC in mobiles and what actually it is?

What is a mobile phone NFC?

NFC, official explanation: short-range wireless communication technology. It is actually a chip mounted inside the mobile phone, which can be simulated into a bus card, access card, bank card, etc., and can be swiped on a consumer terminal when needed, which greatly facilitates people's lives. Now, Xiaomi, Huawei, Samsung, Nubia, OnePlus, Meizu, Hammer, and other mobile phones support NFC function.

What are the usage scenarios for the NFC function?

1. Contact pass, it can simulate traffic cards, access control cards, and pass the mobile phone close to the card reader, saving you the trouble of carrying various cards when you go out.

2. Recharge the transportation card. If you are accustomed to using transportation cards, turn on your NFC function, put the transportation card close to your mobile phone, and then follow the prompts to recharge. You no longer need to queue up and withdraw cash to recharge.

3. Contact payment, it can simulate a bank card, directly approach a POS machine with an NFC module for payment, and confirm the transaction.

4. Contact connection, connect two NFC devices to see what happens. It can perform point-to-point data transmission, such as downloading music, transferring pictures and exchanging address books, etc.

5. Contact browsing, you can connect your NFC mobile phone to a smart public phone or poster with NFC function on the street to browse traffic information, etc.

6. Download contact, the user can receive or download information through the GPRS network for payment or access control functions. As mentioned above, the user can send a text message in a specific format to the housekeeping attendant's mobile phone to control the housekeeping attendant's permission to enter and exit the house.

7. Swipe the small yellow car. Now some shared bicycles also support NFC contact unlocking, eliminating the need for a series of processes such as unlocking the screen, opening the app, clicking to scan the code, and waiting for communication. The lock can be opened with a touch, which is faster.

Why do many mobile phones have no NFC function?

Since the NFC function is so convenient and easy to use, why are there many mobile phones without NFC function?

First, the cost issue. The NFC function on the mobile phone needs to be equipped with an NFC module, and the NFC module requires a lot of costs. Many manufacturers cancel the NFC function in order to reduce the cost. Then, the cost of mobile phones without NFC function will be reduced accordingly, and the price will be more acceptable for consumers. Second, it is difficult to adapt to. If the NFC function on a mobile phone needs to be adapted to the local bus system, the mobile phone manufacturer needs to invest a lot of time to conduct adaptation tests locally. Therefore, in order to save time and cost, many manufacturers directly give up adding the NFC function. Third, NFC is used less frequently. The most commonly used function of NFC is nothing more than taking subways and buses. Many cities do not have subways and the public transportation system does not support NFC functions.

Fourth, there are fewer usage scenarios. With the emergence of third-party payment platforms such as Alipay and WeChat, NFC's analog card payment function has gradually been replaced, and the usage scenarios have become less and less. Fifth, the internal space of the mobile phone needs to accommodate all kinds of chips. In addition, people are increasingly pursuing thinner and lighter mobile phones. In order to optimize the internal space of mobile phones, manufacturers can only cut off relatively less important functions. The combination of mobile phones and technology has facilitated people's lives, but there are also many sciences and designs in life that add to life's troubles.
